I am considering the Tikka T3X Tac a1 (LH) in 6.5 Creedmoor. Supposedly, the Tikka is capable of hitting steel at 1,000 yards. I understand that quality ammo, a quality rifle, and experience shooting long distance is essential to hitting the target at that range. My question is…how far can the T3X a1 reach?
Typically 6.5 CM is going transonic around 1200yds. Predictable hits beyond that range diminish significantly. You can hit targets around 1400 but not consistently due to the loss of velocity and flight stability. If you’re wanting to go beyond that I’d suggest 6.5 PRC.
