The AR Safety Selector was developed to maximize the performance with TriggerTechs AR triggers and loaded with features. The patented design allows the safety to be installed and removed without removing the grip (after initial install). This is made possible by the tumbler and ball tipped detent pin. This feature saves time when changing triggers, cleaning or performing maintenance on your firearm. The detent has a silicon nitride ball tip which offers extremely low friction and durability, which gives an unmatched smooth feel when changing from safe to fire. The same material used on the bottom of space shuttles! The safety is ambidextrous with interchangeable short and long levers. A cap is provided to install on one side if the user wishes to only have a lever on one side. It can easily be setup as a 45 ° or 90 ° degree throw. The tumbler is made of 440C stainless steel and DLC coated for ultra performance and durability. The levers are constructed from 17-4 stainless steel and the black version is coated with PVD. This product is a must have for any competitive shooter looking to up their game!

Tumbler:	440C Stainless Steel & DLC Coated – Diamond-like Carbon Coating. This finish has unique properties of natural diamond – low friction, high hardness, and high corrosion resistance.
Levers:	17-4 Stainless Steel. The Black version is coated with PVD – Physical Vapour Deposition. It is a hard and durable coating that is applied to external stainless components to give them a clean black color.

Are TriggerTech Triggers single stage or two stage?

All TriggerTech AR15 Drop-in Triggers have a short, two-stage action, designed to feel like a 1911 trigger. The triggers are designed to enhance fire control. The first stage is ~0.75lbs and ~0.020” long. This leads you to a very firm wall that provides a true zero-creep break and is followed by extremely short overtravel and a sub 0.030” tactile reset.

How much does a TriggerTech weigh?

The fixed weight AR triggers are 2.2 oz. and the Adaptable AR triggers weigh approximately 0.04 oz more.

What is the lock time?

The lock time of a TriggerTech AR15 Drop-in Trigger averages 5.1 ms when measured by a high-speed video camera.

How do I install my Trigger?

The TriggerTech Installation Guide for AR15 Drop-in Trigger is intended to demonstrate how to install a TriggerTech AR Trigger into your AR and check the AR Safety Selector. This guide is directed to experienced professional gunsmiths who understand the workings of their AR rifle and know how to fully detail strip the lower receiver. If you do not have these skills, we strongly suggest you retain the services of a competent professional gunsmith to install your trigger, and perform all important safety checks.

How light can I adjust my Adaptable AR15 Drop-in Trigger?

There is so much variability in the AR15 platform that the only way to answer this question is to say that every gun is different. There is such a thing as a trigger that is too light and this weight will change from gun to gun. There are several factors including bolt carrier height, bolt carrier mass and bolt carrier speed as well as the overall mass of the gun. TriggerTech strongly recommends that you get some trigger time on your TriggerTech before adjusting the break weight below 3.5lbs. As you reduce the amount of spring tension on the sear, you may reach a point that the gun will not cock reliably when live firing (though it may still cock dry firing). Our Adaptable AR15 Trigger is capable of getting down to ~2.5lbs on most ARs but it is not safe to assume that it will function correctly on all ARs at this weight.

What can happen if I set my trigger too light?

A trigger that is too light may exhibit follow (where the hammer fails to recock and follows the bolt carrier forward and but does not fire the next round) and/or autofire (where the hammer successfully recocks but releases following the closing of the bolt carrier). It is not safe to use a trigger that exhibits either of these characteristics. Always use extreme caution when adjusting the weight of your TriggerTech trigger.

How do I know if my rifle is compatible?

TriggerTech will fit in any AR15 platform rifle that adheres to the relevant dimensions of the Technical Data Package for the M16/M4. While almost all AR15’s meets this requirement, some guns have dimensions that are either out of or do not follow this spec. TriggerTech is not compatible on the older Colts with oversize pins.

Will TriggerTech run on AR10 rifles?

While TriggerTech’s AR15 Drop-in Triggers were not designed specifically for the AR10 platform, we have several very satisfied customers who have high round counts with AR10 uppers. TriggerTechs will work fine with AR10 uppers provided the bottom of the bolt carrier is in spec (most are but some are way off). Please see the FAQ on How light can I adjust my AR15 Drop-in Trigger? as heavier bolt carriers with more inertia can make the gun more sensitive to trigger pull weight. TriggerTech will honor its warranty and satisfaction guarantee on triggers used on AR10 platform rifles.

Will TriggerTech run on 9mm uppers?

While TriggerTech’s AR triggers were not designed specifically for the 9mm platform, we have several very satisfied customers who have high round counts with 9MM AR uppers. TriggerTechs will work fine with 9mm uppers provided the bottom of the bolt carrier is in spec (most are but some are way off). Which AR Safety Selectors are compatible with TriggerTech?

While we try to accommodate a wide range of tolerances in our design the challenge with AR Safety Selectors is that there is no standard for them (they are not part of the M16/M4 Technical Data Package). It is very import to follow step 5 of 7 in our Installation Guide (With the AR Safety Selector installed and in the SAFE position, use the 1/16” Allen key supplied and FIRMLY tighten the two snug-down screws towards the back on the trigger housing). Having the safety selector installed and in the SAFE position prior to tightening should result in an idea fit between the AR Safety Selector and the transfer bar of the trigger. While TriggerTech is compatible with nearly all common selectors, some slight fitting may be required and in some rare cases TriggerTech may not be compatible with a given AR Safety Selector.

Is TriggerTech compatible with Short-Throw AR Safety Selectors?

While we try to accommodate a wide range of tolerances in our design the challenge with AR Safety Selectors is that there is no standard for them and short throw safeties require tighter tolerances between the safety and trigger to functions properly. At the start of 2017 we changed our tolerance to accommodate most short throw safeties. However, some short throw safeties that were designed specifically for Mil-Spec style (housingless) triggers may not be compatible.

How do I check if I have installed my safety properly/ensure my safety is compatible?

Prior to using your firearm, perform the following tests without ammunition to see if your installation was done correctly.

Safety off, charge bolt, safety on, pull trigger firmly – trigger should NOT fire – Trigger should not make any audible clicks
Safety off, charge bolt, safety on, pull trigger firmly, safety off – Trigger should NOT fire
Safety off, charge bolt, safety on, pull trigger firmly, safety off, pull trigger – trigger should fire.

IMPORTANT: If your trigger should fail any of these tests, repeat step 5 of 7 in our Installation Guide to ensure your trigger is firmly, and correctly, snugged down. If it continues to fail, do NOT use live ammunition until you have spoken with your local gunsmith or TriggerTech.

Can I use anti-walk pins instead of the snug down screws?

While you can use anti-walk pins with TriggerTech you MUST also ensure the snug down screws are tight. Snug down screws will firmly keep your trigger in place and operating as it is designed to.

Should I lubricate my TriggerTech AR Trigger?

TriggerTech’s AR triggers can operate dry because of the patented rolling technology. If lubricants are used it is recommended that you clean your trigger regularly.
